Hotels in Days Bay, Lower Hutt from CA $69

The best time to go to Days Bay is during the warmer months, specifically from late spring through early autumn (November to April), when the weather is most pleasant for enjoying the outdoors.

During this period, you'll experience longer daylight hours and generally settled weather, making it ideal for coastal activities. The sea temperatures are also at their warmest, great for swimming, paddleboarding, or kayaking in the bay. This is particularly appealing for families looking to make the most of the beach and water sports.

Couples often find the shoulder seasons of November/December and March/April particularly appealing. The weather is still lovely, but there are fewer crowds, allowing for a more relaxed experience when exploring the walking trails, enjoying waterfront dining, or taking the ferry across to Wellington city.
